Bedminster Democrats Select Two Candidates

The Bedminster Democratic Committee is pleased to announce that it has endorsed Zaheer Jan of Timberbrooke Drive and Jeff Beyer of Riverwood Ave. as their 2019 candidates for the Bedminster Township Committee.

Zaheer Jan has been active in the Bedminster community since his move here in 1995.  Zaheer has previously served as the Chair of the Bedminster Democratic Committee and as Board Member of the Bedminster Hills Housing Corporation and also as President of the Timerbrooke at Bedminster Condominium Association. Zaheer successfully led the campaign against Bedminster Township’s surreptitious project to connect interstates 78 and 287 to route 202-206, which would have been devastating to the communities in Pluckemin and The Hills. Zaheer also ran for Township Committee in 2004. Zaheer has had a long career in the oil and gas industry where he managed the engineering of the $24 billion Alaska Natural Gas Transportation System. Zaheer earned a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering at University of London. Today, he continues to be involved in the energy sector serving as Treasurer of Cooling America Through Local Leadership, a company the promotes energy saving solutions for local communities throughout New Jersey.

Jeff Beyer was a Lieutenant in the US Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University and an MBA from Fordham University. In 1985 he founded his own company, Enhancement Technologies Inc., based in Liberty Corner, NJ.  He has lived on Riverwood Ave. in Bedminster since 1988 with his wife Kathy where they raised and educated their 2 sons in the Bedminster school system and at Bernards High School.  He currently serves the local community as Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Clarence Dillon Library.  Formerly, he has served as an Assistant Scoutmaster of the local Scout Troop and on the boards of the New Jersey National Golf Club and the Great Dane Club of Raritan Valley. He is also currently the Chairman of the Bedminster Democratic Committee.

Zaheer Jan and Jeff Beyer look to bring an experienced, professional, approach to town governance with accountability and transparency as a high priority. Zaheer and Jeff want to hold the Bedminster government accountable and be responsive to the citizens when it comes to how their tax dollars are spent. They also believe that Bedminster is a town that should lead from the front, not wither in the background. “We could not be more excited about these two experienced and thoughtful candidates. I know that Bedminster is a better town because they are running for Township Committee” says Bedminster Democratic Committee Vice-Chair Jacob Caplan. “These two men will be great leaders for our town for years to come”.
