Bergen County Executive James J. Tedesco III and Board of Chosen Freeholders Recognize Local Gold Medalist Jack Wallace

HACKENSACK – On Wednesday, May 2nd, Jack Wallace, the Paralympian came to a meeting of the Bergen County Board of Chosen Freeholders.  Jack, a 2016 graduate of Indian Hills High School in Franklin Lakes who lost leg above the knee in a boating accident at age ten, represented the United States in Pyeonchang, South Korea on the sled hockey team, and returned home a gold medalist. During the work session meeting, the County Executive and Freeholders praised Jack for his perseverance and talent, and wished him good luck in making the Paralympic team again in 2022.

“In his first Paralympic Games, Jack Wallace helped the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team win gold in South Korea,” said County Executive James J. Tedesco.  “On behalf of the people of Bergen County, I am proud to congratulate Jack Wallace and his teammates and thank them for representing their fellow Americans so well on the international stage.”

“Jack Wallace not only took home a gold medal for America, but he has become an inspiration for all—especially those of us in Bergen County,” said Freeholder Chairman Thomas J. Sullivan. “Jack is a true example of how hard work will allow you to achieve anything you dream of, no matter how young you are.”
