Beyond the Ballot Backs James Solomon for Jersey City Mayor, Plans to Deploy Gen Z-led Field Support Throughout November
JERSEY CITY, NEW JERSEY – The last thing Jersey City needs is a comeback story for a disgraced politician. What it does need, however, is a future built by the people who work every day to call the city home. That’s why Beyond the Ballot is proud to endorse James Solomon for Mayor of Jersey City, a leader for the working-class who has spent his career cleaning up the mess left over from decades of mismanagement at the hands of legacy political machines.
As a two-term City Councilmember, father, and cancer survivor, Solomon has proven that integrity in public service isn’t just possible, it’s powerful. From exposing corruption to defending renters, he’s been the rare elected official who remembers who he works for.
"I am proud to have the endorsement of Beyond the Ballot as we work to change Jersey City and create a more affordable community for everyone,” said James Solomon. “As Mayor, my top priority is creating a city where everyone has a shot to get ahead, and that means housing that is affordable, an economy that lifts people up, and development that's for people, not developers. The contrast in this runoff is clear. I am going to lower the rents, Jim McGreevey is going to raise them."
Beyond the Ballot will mobilize young organizers, tenants, and workers across New Jersey to power Solomon’s campaign heading into the December 2 runoff, launching digital outreach, participating in on-the-ground canvassing, and hosting weekend “Gen Z Days of Action” throughout the month of November to ensure this race is decided by the people, not the powerful. Because this election isn’t about the next chapter in another establishment politician’s career, it’s about the first chapter in Jersey City’s future.
