ATLANTIC CITY — February 21, 2020 — Compassionate Care Foundation (“CCF”), a nonprofit medicinal cannabis grow and dispensary, today celebrated the opening of its first satellite dispensary, “The Botanist by Compassionate Care Foundation,” with an event at its location on the city’s famed boardwalk.

During the celebration, area business and community leaders, including Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small Sr., welcomed The Botanist by Compassionate Care Foundation to the Jersey Shore city and completed a tour of the medical cannabis dispensary.

“We appreciate how medicinal cannabis can benefit many people seeking relief for a range of ailments,” Mayor Small said. “We look forward to working with CCF and know they will be an engaged and valued member of the Atlantic City community.”

The Botanist by Compassionate Care Foundation offers a wide selection of flower-only products — produced at CCF’s grow facility in Egg Harbor Township — and features a “science meets nature” retail design reminiscent of a 19th century botanist laboratory. The dispensary offers an inviting environment where patients can learn about the healing properties of the cannabis plant from trained patient care specialists. The Botanist by Compassionate Care Foundation design includes a “SEED BAR” education station, a private consultation room, and The Botanist’s signature green foliage wall.

CCF’s mission is to provide access to quality medicinal cannabis to all patients who can benefit from the botanical’s healing properties. New Jersey’s Medicinal Marijuana Program (NJMMP) 2019 expansion enables residents with a wider range of medical conditions to purchase medicinal cannabis. The Botanist By Compassionate Care Foundation aims to improve access for current patients and meet the needs of New Jersey’s growing market. Medical conditions currently approved for medicinal cannabis under the NJMMP include amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, chronic pain, intractable skeletal spasticity, cancer, glaucoma, post-traumatic stress disorder, and others. More information is available on The State of New Jersey Department of Health’s website.

“The public’s acceptance of cannabis as a natural way to help a range of conditions has grown enormously since we opened CCF‘s dispensary and grow site in 2013,” said David Knowlton, Chair of the Board of CCF. “We’re pleased to help even more people who can benefit from this ancient botanical by opening The Botanist by Compassionate Care Foundation in Atlantic City.”

The Botanist by Compassionate Care Foundation is Atlantic City’s first and only medicinal cannabis dispensary, or Alternative Treatment Center, and officially opens to the public Saturday, Feb. 22, at 1301 Boardwalk, Atlantic City.

Hours of operations are:

  • Thursday – Sunday: 10am – 6pm
  • Monday – Wednesday: Closed

“We prioritize making our patients feel comfortable and educated about cannabis-based products. Our goal is to guide our patients to identify the optimal products for their condition,” said CCF ‘s General Manager Cady Riley. “The Botanist by Compassionate Care Foundation team is available to answer any questions, and hopefully help patients find therapeutic relief.”
