TRENTON, N.J. – Gov. Phil Murphy signed into law on Monday a bill (A5342) prohibiting law enforcement from notifying parents if a minor is found in possession of or using marijuana and alcohol.
Assembly Republican Leader Jon Bramnick announced today that he will introduce legislation to repeal the parental notification prohibition.
“Handcuffing law enforcement from notifying parents if they find a child using drugs or alcohol is irresponsible and dangerous,” said Bramnick (R-Union). “Parents should know if their children break the law. Leaving parents out of the equation has nothing to do with social justice.” |
