Mandelblatt and Gunderman under fire for Murphy tax comments

WESTFIELD, N.J. – Democrat candidates Lisa Mandelblatt and Stacey Gunderman apparently get cold feet every time the issue of higher taxes come up.

Their most recent silence comes after Gov. Phil Murphy told business leaders at a meeting at Rowan University that New Jersey may not be their state if they are concerned about tax rates.

“Lisa Mandelblatt and Stacey Gunderman either don’t understand that taxes are the number one issue in this state or they are hiding their support for higher taxes,” said Bramnick (R-Union).  “Either way taxpayers deserve to know if they are just indifferent or support Governor Murphy when it comes to endless tax hikes.”

Three weeks ago, while marking the one year anniversary of his long term economic plan for the state, Murphy said, “If you’re a one-issue voter and tax rate is your issue, either a family or a business, if that’s the only basis upon which you’re going to make a decision, we’re probably not your state.”
