Bramnick says new pre-approval requirements are dangerous to women’s health

TRENTON, N.J. – Assembly Republican Leader Jon Bramnick today said he is “deeply concerned” that certain insurance companies in New Jersey will now require prior approval for ultrasound testing beginning May 1.

“Doctors should be making medical decisions, not insurance companies,” said Bramnick (R-Union). “The health of expectant mothers and their unborn children must take precedence over the bottom line.”

Bramnick will be introducing legislation to stop insurance companies from requiring pre-approvals for sonograms necessary for a baby’s health.
