Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso Endorses Analilia Mejia For Congress
In his endorsement, Reynoso cited Mejia’s history of organizing workers, her commitment to Medicare for All, and her fierce opposition to ICE.
NEW YORK, NY — Today, Analilia Mejia — the former director of the NJ Working Families Party and the Bernie Sanders- and AOC-backed candidate for Congress in NJ-11 — received the endorsement of Brooklyn Borough President and NY-07 candidate for Congress, Antonio Reynoso.
“Analilia Mejia has been fighting for working families for over 25 years — first as a labor organizer and then as one of the most prominent leaders in our movement,” said Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso. “Congress needs fighters who know how to deliver on the promises of the progressive movement, and Analilia’s record speaks for itself. She delivered paid sick leave and a minimum wage increase for workers all across New Jersey, and she’ll bring that fight to Congress. She remains the only candidate in NJ-11 with the moral clarity to say ‘Abolish ICE.’ Trump is funding this agency to spread terror in our communities, and we should accept nothing less than its total abolition. Analilia has my full support and we need more members of Congress like her.”
“I am so proud to have the endorsement of Antonio Reynoso, who has shown us for his entire career what it means to lead with your values,” said Analilia Mejia. “Antonio knows how to use the power he’s been given to deliver for the people of Brooklyn, whether it’s building more affordable housing or standing tall against the Trump administration’s abuses. That’s the kind of leadership I plan to emulate in Congress, and I am grateful for his support.”
