CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Jack Ciattarelli Names Anti-Abortion Hardliner as Potential State Supreme Court Pick

As “one of the most conservative assemblymen” in New Jersey, Jay Webber has taken dangerous positions, from support for an abortion ban and “defunding” Planned Parenthood to opposition to marriage equality. Webber even said that he believed that Roe v. Wade led to a "culture of death."

“With just over a week before Election Day, Jack Caittarelli has put the finishing touches on his blueprint to ban abortions in New Jersey,” said Nicole Chung, New Jersey regional campaigns director, Planned Parenthood Votes. “With Jay Webber on the NJ Supreme Court, Jack Ciattarelli will have a rubber stamp to carry out his plans to strip funding from Planned Parenthood health centers and enact an abortion ban in New Jersey. From his past votes to defund Planned Parenthood to his future plans for extreme nominees to the state Supreme Court, it’s brutally clear that Jack Ciattarelli would erode access to reproductive health care and take New Jersey backwards.”

Over his many years as a career politician, Jack Ciattarelli has voted six times to “defund” Planned Parenthood at the state level and is in favor of sending taxpayer dollars to illegitimate crisis pregnancy centers. He’s endorsed by Donald Trump as “100% MAGA” and supports the Trump administration’s law to “defund” Planned Parenthood, jeopardizing health care access to 1.1 million patients across the country and tens of thousands in New Jersey. While Ciattarelli has repeatedly tried to hide from abortion on the campaign trail and lie about his agenda, he’s bankrolled hardline anti-abortion politicians, campaigned alongside leading opponents of reproductive rights in New Jersey, and backed a state abortion ban.

Last week, Planned Parenthood Votes launched a new ad campaign in New Jersey, sounding the alarm on Ciattarelli’s anti-abortion agenda and urging support for Mikie Sherrill.
