Chairman Jones Condemns Gross Mistreatment of NJ Leaders at Delaney Hall ICE Detention Center

Trenton, NJ —  Today, Leroy J. Jones Jr., Chairman of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee, released the following statement:

“The altercation at the Delaney Hall ICE Detention Center this afternoon is another deeply disturbing miscarriage of justice carried out by the Trump administration. Many New Jerseyans have been horrified in the wake of increased ICE raids throughout our country and unconstitutional deportations without due process. When our leaders came, peacefully, to demand answers and provide oversight on the activity happening at this newly opened center, they were met with violence and arrest. This is not how a democracy functions. I am thankful for our brave Democratic leaders' resilience and strength as they fight for our constitution and country in the face of fascist overreach.”
