Chairman Jones Statement on the Inauguration of Mikie Sherrill and Dr. Dale Caldwell 

Newark, NJ—New Jersey Democratic State Committee Chairman LeRoy J. Jones Jr. released the following statement:

“Congratulations to Governor Mikie Sherrill and Lieutenant Governor Dale Caldwell on their swearing-in. Today begins a new age for New Jersey under their leadership. The people of the Garden State have put their confidence in them to deliver on an agenda of affordability, prosperity, and transparency.

From the moment I met Governor Sherrill nearly a decade ago, I saw her passion for public service and drive to make our state a better place for all. During her time in Congress, she fought hard to fulfill the promises she made to the residents of NJ-11, securing funding for the Gateway Tunnel Project, lowering the cost of prescription drugs for seniors, enacting gun violence prevention legislation, mitigating flood risks—the list goes on. She will bring that same tenacity to get things done statewide to lower the cost of utilities and housing, improve accountability in Trenton, and stand tough against the chaotic overreach of the Trump administration.”
