(Mount Holly)- Jules Theissen, Chair of the Mt. Holly Municipal Utilities Authority today thanked Commissioner Jay Springer for his service to the MUA on the announcement of his resignation from the board.
“I would like to thank Jay Springer for his service and dedication to the MUA. He stepped up in our time of need and not only served as a member of the commissioner but as our Vice-Chair. His insightful comments and questions will be missed” stated Chairmen Jules Theissen
Jay Springer represents Eastampton Township on the town council and joined the MUA Board in February 2020 and became Vice Chair in 2021.
Executive Director Bob Maybury stated “Jay Springer’s devotion to the MUA cannot be overlooked. The zeal with which he pursued grants and other funds for the MUA has helped to keep our costs down and is one of the reasons we are keeping our rates flat this year.”
The Authority owns and operates/maintains 40 pumping stations in 6 townships (Mount Holly, Hainesport, Eastampton, Westampton, Lumberton, and Moorestown). The Authority owns and maintains more than 175 miles of sanitary (gravity and force) mains that collect and transfer wastewater to 2 wastewater treatment facilities (the Rancocas Road Water Pollution Control and the Maple Avenue Water Pollution Control Facility). The Authority services approximately 15,000 residential customers (representing an estimated population of 50,000) in addition to nearly 600 commercial customers and 6 regulated industrial users.
