CHICPEAJC ANNOUNCES FUNDRAISING GALA MAY 30 AT ART HOUSE PRODUCTIONS
All proceeds to benefit CCAJC, a non-profit mentorship program for local youth
interested in Digital Media
JERSEY CITY, May 14, 2019 — ChicpeaJC, Jersey City’s premier culture and lifestyle blog, will host “ChicpeaJC Turns 5”, a fundraising black-tie gala on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the legendary Art House Productions in Jersey City. The event will raise awareness and funds for Content Creators Academy (CCAJC), a non-profit youth mentorship program that provides resources for young individuals who are interested in the creative & digital space and have an entrepreneurial spirit.
Since its inception in 2014 by entrepreneur and founder Lynn Hazan (“Chicpea”), the popular lifestyle site has grown into a full multimedia business. In celebration of the blog’s 5-year anniversary, the theme will focus on the vibrant culinary arts of Jersey City – Gringo’s, Hudson Hall, Pet Shop, CoolVines, The Hamilton Inn, and Ani Ramen are just a few of the local favorites to be featured. An evening filled with glitz and excitement will include cocktails, dinner, a comedy show, live music and much more.
All proceeds will benefit CCAJC. The academy empowers young people in the community by not only offering digital media skills, but also helping students gain knowledge and experience in various aspects of entrepreneurship from writing business emails, to how to communicate with customers, to working in a team. The organization helps create content and digital strategy for small businesses in Jersey City, helping these businesses grow and gain visibility in the online sphere.
“The gala will be a phenomenal celebration of the work we do to create an impact in Jersey City — a community that is rapidly growing and that is near and dear to my heart,” said Lynn Hazan. “Businesses here are flourishing, and we are helping our community by providing young leaders of tomorrow with the skills they need for continued success.”
