Ciattarelli Meets Threshold for Matching Funds

Lone ’21 GOP Gov candidate has raised $517k since late January

Somerville, July 15, 2020 – MBA/CPA, two-time successful small business owner, and former State Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli has reached the threshold to qualify for matching funds for the 2021 gubernatorial race, his campaign announced today.

Ciattarelli and his team have raised a total of $517,431 from donors in all 21 counties since launching the campaign in late January, including $207,969 in Q2, despite not holding an in-person fundraising event for more than three months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“For our campaign to reach the threshold for matching funds nearly one-year in advance of the 2021 primary election – in the midst of a global pandemic – speaks volumes to the efforts of Jack and our Finance Committee,” said Ciattarelli for Governor Finance Chairman Jeff Vanderbeek. “It also underscores the growing sentiment among New Jersey voters that Phil Murphy needs to be ‘ONE and DONE in ’21.’”

Ciattarelli called Murphy’s heavy-handed – and often hypocritical – use of Executive Orders “imperial” and warned that recently announced plans to borrow up to $10 billion and back it up with a statewide property tax surcharge would make New Jersey even more unaffordable and less competitive economically.

“Phil Murphy’s abusive treatment of small business owners, his imperial ‘do as I say, not as I do’ Executive Orders, and his obsession with higher taxes, more spending, and now an illegal borrowing scheme that will punish taxpayers for generations to come, threatens the future of our state,” said Ciattarelli. “As Governor, I will make the tough decisions necessary to fix New Jersey and put us back on the path to prosperity.”
