Ciattarelli Wins Essex GOP Line
Party leaders tout bold ideas and ability to win in November
Somerville, March 24, 2017 – Successful entrepreneur and Main Street businessman Jack Ciattarelli announced today that he was endorsed by the Essex County Republican Committee and will run on the county line in the June primary election.
“Earning the endorsement of Chairman Barlas and the Essex County Republicans continues what has been an exciting and successful week for our campaign as momentum continues to grow up and down the state,” said Ciattarelli. “I am grateful and humbled by their confidence in me and my candidacy.”
Al Barlas, Essex County GOP Chairman and local leaders also chimed in.
“I want to thank all the candidates for coming to screen before our executive committee. After having received the overwhelming majority of votes I’m pleased to announce that the Essex County Republican Committee endorses Jack Ciattarelli for Governor,” said Chairman Barlas. “We believe he is the only candidate in the race who has put forth a deliverable vision on how to lower property taxes, reduce the size of government, and grow our economy. The status quo is not working, we need change and we know Jack can deliver it.”
“Our party and our state need to move in an entirely new direction. Jack Ciattarelli’s success in both the private and public sector makes him the rare candidate who understands government, while still being able to attack problems as an outsider. That’s what we need right now,” said Peter Tanella, Cedar Grove Mayor & Municipal Chair
“As successful entrepreneur and Main Street businessman, Jack Ciattarelli represents a real contrast with liberal Wall Street insider Phil Murphy,” said Mary Comito, Roseland Municipal Chair. “He will appeal to independents and Democrats that we need to win statewide, and clearly gives Republicans our best chance to win in November.”
“Jack Ciattarelli has spoken passionately about the need to grow and strengthen our party in all 21 counties, and he is running a campaign of big, bold ideas that will resonate with minorities, women and young voters,” said Doug Freeman, Newark South Ward Chair. “I am excited about his candidacy and the kind of Governor he can be.”
