City to Hold Meetings per Update to Land Development Ordinance
City to Hold Meetings per Update to Land Development Ordinance
Trenton N.J. – The City of Trenton has embarked on an update to the City’s Land Development Ordinance (LDO). The Trenton 250 LDO Update process will help to better preserve, strengthen, and protect the historic physical patterns of development that define the character of the City. We look to direct reinvestment, and create new opportunities for economic development, helping to make Trenton a more sustainable, livable, and business-friendly community. An updated LDO will provide opportunities for Trenton to move toward the vision established in “Trenton250.” In short — modernizing the LDO to be easily interpreted for developers, businesses, and residents is a big step in helping Trenton achieve its long-term vision, and the City is required to do so after an adoption of a master plan.
The Trenton250 Comprehensive Master Plan established a long-term vision for the future of Trenton and called for several new policies to move the City toward that vision. The Plan provides mapped and written policy about how development should occur within the City. The new LDO will take these policies as its base and provide an update to the City’s development regulations.
The first step in this process is the Technical Review and Approaches Report. This Report lays out the potential areas of revision and new approaches that can help Trenton achieve its vision. We invite you to attend a meeting where Camiros, assisted by WRT, the consultants hired by the City to help create an updated LDO, will present an overview of the Report and take questions and comments. We invite you to attend and provide your feedback.
The Technical Review and Approaches Report can be found at Trenton250LDOupdate.com.
