Collective PAC Endorses Tahesha Way for Congress
WAYNE, NJ – Today, Collective PAC, the nation's largest organization dedicated to building Black political power by electing Black candidates to local, state, and federal office, endorsed Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of State Tahesha Way in her bid to represent New Jersey's Eleventh Congressional District.

"Tahesha Way has a track record of delivering for working families while defending our democracy against unprecedented attacks,” said Quentin James, President of Collective PAC. “When Donald Trump came after her in court, she didn't flinch – she fought back and won. As Secretary of State, she blocked Trump's attempts to access New Jersey voter data, strengthened ballot access through expanded early voting and automatic registration, and advanced policies that reduced costs and created opportunities for families statewide. New Jersey's Eleventh District needs someone with her courage and commitment to results, and we're confident she'll fight just as hard for working people in Congress."

"I'm honored to have the support of Collective PAC as I run to represent New Jersey's Eleventh District,” said Tahesha Way. “This campaign is about ensuring every family has access to affordable healthcare, every worker has real economic opportunity, and every citizen can make their voice heard at the ballot box. Trump and his allies are advancing policies that hurt working families  – but I've beaten him before, and I'll keep fighting in Congress to protect our rights, our wallets, and our futures and deliver real results for working families."

Tahesha has spent her career fighting for New Jersey families. As a county commissioner, she kept costs down by reining in tax increases and balancing the budget while still expanding services for vulnerable residents. As Secretary of State and Lieutenant Governor, she has led the fight for voting rights and working families – pushing back against Trump's attacks on voting access, blocking his attempts to seize New Jersey voter data, expanding early voting and automatic voter registration, and championing key legislation to lower utility costs, expand mental health services, strengthen tenant protections, and support small businesses across New Jersey.

ABOUT TAHESHA

Tahesha Way is a mother, lawyer, lifelong public servant, and New Jersey’s Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of State. Raised in a working-class union household by an MTA bus driver and a rail clerk, she learned early the values of hard work, community, and speaking up for others. After surviving a life-threatening cerebral brain hemorrhage in college, she re-taught herself how to read when her health insurance refused to cover the therapy she needed.

Tahesha has served as an Administrative Law Judge and as a Passaic County Commissioner and Board of Commissioners Director, where she expanded youth justice reform, food access, and educational opportunities while balancing the budget without raising taxes. As Secretary of State, she led major voting-rights expansions and stood up to the Trump Administration’s attempts to undermine New Jerseyans’ rights. As Lieutenant Governor, she has championed affordability, mental health services, small business growth, and protections for families across the state.

Tahesha is running for Congress to protect access to health care, address rising costs, and fight for the hardworking New Jersey families who deserve a voice and a champion in Washington. She lives in Wayne with her husband, Charles, and their four daughters.
