College Democrats and College Republicans Announce Statewide Sponsors for the NJ College Civility Tour

TRENTON, N.J. — September 2026 — The College Democrats of New Jersey (CDNJ) and the New Jersey College Republicans (NJCR) today announced the official sponsors for the upcoming NJ College Civility Tour, a bipartisan campus dialogue series launching this fall to bring respectful political conversations to colleges and universities across New Jersey.

The tour, first announced earlier this summer, will feature Andrew LoMonte, Vice President of the College Democrats of New Jersey, and John Rendzia III, Chairman Emeritus of the New Jersey College Republicans, visiting campuses together to engage students in conversations about civic engagement, public service, political disagreement, and the importance of civil discourse.

The initiative is designed to demonstrate that students from opposing political organizations can disagree on policy while working together to strengthen democratic participation and campus dialogue. The tour was originally unveiled as a statewide effort to encourage constructive conversations across political differences on New Jersey campuses.

The organizations also announced a coalition of partners supporting the inaugural tour:

• BridgeUSA, the national nonpartisan student movement dedicated to healthy democracy and constructive dialogue.

• Gen Z for New Jersey, a statewide youth civic engagement organization.

• Jersey 1st TV, serving as the tour's official media partner.

• The College Democrats of New Jersey (CDNJ).

• The New Jersey College Republicans (NJCR).

Together, these organizations will help expand the tour's reach across New Jersey's colleges and universities while promoting opportunities for students to participate in open, respectful conversations about the issues shaping their communities.

The NJ College Civility Tour will stop at colleges and universities throughout New Jersey during the Fall 2026 semester, with additional campus announcements, event dates, and programming details to be released in the coming weeks. Each event will feature moderated bipartisan discussions, student audience engagement, and conversations centered on leadership, civic responsibility, public policy, and navigating political differences in an increasingly polarized environment.

As one of the first statewide initiatives of its kind, heavily inspired by the tour of the same name led by Senators Bramnick (R, LD-21) and Cryan (D, LD-20), the NJ College Civility Tour aims to provide a model for constructive engagement among young people and reinforce the idea that vigorous debate and mutual respect can coexist.
