(TRENTON) – The Assembly Thursday votes on legislation to combat surprise out-of-network medical bills, improve school security, ban offshore oil drilling, bring wind energy to New Jersey and ensure unions can access and communicate with the employees they represent.
Also up: tuition equality, automatic voter registration and the New Voter Empowerment Act, medical examiner reforms, opposing a Census citizenship question, combating infant mortality, nuclear and clean energy, boosting the heat-and-eat program and improving school breakfast and lunch programs, gestational carrier agreements, protecting the Affordable Care Act in New Jersey, Urban Enterprise Zones, chronic student absenteeism, film and digital media tax credits and protecting consumers from costly security freezes.
Pedro Mejia will also be sworn into the vacant 32nd District seat representing Hudson County.
