Congressman Andy Kim Announces Endorsement from Senator Tammy Duckworth in His Bid for U.S. Senate

MOORESTOWN N.J. – Today, Congressman Andy Kim (D-NJ) announced an endorsement from U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), as he seeks to become the next U.S. Senator from New Jersey.

“Senator Duckworth is a leader within our AANHPI community, a fierce advocate for military families, a history maker in her own right, and a parent working every day in the Senate to make the world a better place for her children. It is an honor to have her support,” said Congressman Andy Kim. “In the Senate, she will be an incredible partner to fight for our servicemembers and Veterans and stand up against AANHPI hate, and I look forward to working with her if I am lucky enough to be the next Senator from New Jersey.”

“Andy Kim is a lifelong public servant and a proven advocate for working families who will make an effective addition to our Democratic majority in the Senate, and I’m proud to endorse him in his run to represent New Jersey. His candidacy isn’t just about restoring integrity and trust, it’s also about giving a voice to the millions of AANHPI voters on the East Coast who will finally have an AANHPI Senator representing their region. I look forward to Andy being elected to the Senate this year and know that we’ll work closely once he’s there to support military families and Veterans, protect reproductive freedoms and stand up to anti-AANHPI hate across the country,” said Senator Tammy Duckworth.

First elected to Congress in 2018 at the age of 36, three-term Congressman Andy Kim is one of the younger members to serve in Congress and is the first Asian American elected to federal office from New Jersey. If elected to the Senate, Andy would be the 4th youngest Senator, the first Korean American elected to the Senate, and the first Asian American elected to the Senate from the entire east coast of America. In 2018 and 2020, Andy defeated two self-funding millionaires in a district carried by former President Trump, and in 2022 Kim defeated his third self-funding millionaire opponent by 12 points.

In his three terms in Congress, Andy has worked hard to lower costs for New Jersey families and help support small businesses through challenging times. Andy has also been a leading champion in fighting against corruption in our broken politics.
