Congressman Sires Announces Grant Award for North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue

(Washington, D.C.) – Congressman Sires congratulated North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue for receiving a grant of $181,291 from the Department of Homeland Security.  The funding was awarded by the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program which seeks to enhance the safety of the public and firefighters with respect to fire and fire-related hazards.  This program provides grants to qualified agencies in order to strengthen their overall level of preparedness and ability to respond to fire and related risks.

I am very pleased that North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue has received this award which will help protect the outstanding firefighters who put themselves in harm’s way every day, said Rep. Sires. “This important funding will provide our emergency responders with the necessary tools to keep our communities safe.”

North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue serves the residents of 5 Hudson County municipalities: North Bergen, West New York, Guttenberg, Union City, and Weehawken.
