Congresswoman Pou Comments on Mayor Baraka Detainment

PATERSON, NJ – Congresswoman Nellie Pou (D-NJ-09) this evening commented on the detainment of Newark Mayor Ras Baraka by federal agents.

“The images of Mayor Baraka being handcuffed and detained by federal agents in his own city are an outrage,” said Congresswoman Pou. “Trespassing charges against a mayor visiting a government-contracted facility in his city are preposterous. Any charges should be dismissed and he should be released now,” said Congresswoman Nellie Pou.
