County College of Morris to Hold Auditions for Fall Musical and Drama
Auditions to be held at the Dragonetti Auditorium
RANDOLPH, NJ – The County College of Morris (CCM) Department of Music, Performing Arts and Music Technologies will be holding auditions for its fall musical and drama in September.
The fall auditions will begin for the acclaimed musical, “Bright Star,” directed by Professor Marielaine Mammon. Inspired by a true story, and featuring the Tony-nominated score by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, “Bright Star” tells a sweeping tale of love and redemption set against the rich backdrop of the American South in the 1920s and ’40s.
Auditions for “Bright Star” will be held on Thursday, September 5, and Tuesday, September 10, at 6:30 p.m. in the Dragonetti Auditorium, located at 214 Center Grove Road in Randolph. Callbacks will be held on the September 12, at 6:30 p.m. The auditions are open to both college students and the public. Those auditioning are to sing 32 bars of music in the style of the show and should bring sheet music for the accompanist. Comfortable clothes and jazz shoes/character shoes are suggested for the dance call portion of the audition. Show dates for “Bright Star” are Wednesday through Saturday, October 30 to November 2, at 7:30 p.m., with a Saturday matinee on November 2 at 2 p.m.
CCM’s fall drama auditions for the heartwarming holiday classic “Miracle on 34th Street” will be held on Monday, September 9, at 6:30 p.m. in the Dragonetti Auditorium. Callbacks will also be that evening. Auditioners should prepare a brief monologue and will be asked to read from the script at callbacks. The show dates are Thursday through Saturday, December 12 to 14, at 7:30 p.m., with a Saturday matinee at 2 p.m.
