County Law Enforcement Agencies to Host Annual “Chief for a Day” Celebration for Local Children
WHAT: On Friday, June 7th, 2019 the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office will join with local and county law enforcement agencies to participate in their annual Bergen County Chief for a Day celebration. The program provides children with chronic health conditions the opportunity to receive a behind-the-scenes look at law enforcement.
All participating police departments will sponsor a child from their communities. This year’s honorary Chiefs range in age from 6 to 15 years old and are being sponsored by the following agencies:

Bergenfield Police Department
Elmwood Park Police Department
Emerson Police Department
Englewood Police Department
Fair Lawn Police Department
Fairview Police Department
Fort Lee Police Department
Garfield Police Department
Hasbrouck Heights Police Department
North Arlington Police Department
Saddle Brook Police Department
Teaneck Police Department
Washington Township Police Department
Wood-Ridge Police Department

AGENDA:
Local Activities
8 a.m. – Each child to be picked up in local patrol car at his or her residence
9 a.m. – Breakfast with the Sheriff/Chief and official swearing-in ceremony
10 a.m. – Police department tours and local activities
Group Activities
11:00 a.m. – Group photo on the steps of the Bergen County Justice Center
11:45 p.m. – Motorcade procession from the Bergen County Justice Center to The Venetian (Garfield, NJ)
12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. – Lunch ceremony with guest speakers and entertainment
