DCCC: KEY VOTE ALERT: Lance Votes to Kill DREAM Act Vote

Today, Representative Leonard Lance voted to move forward with a rule that allows for a vote on a hardline, partisan immigration bill. Voting for this rule effectively kills the discharge petition that would have allowed for an up or down vote on the DREAM Act. Instead, Lance sided with Republican party bosses and anti-immigrant hardliners.

“This vote exposes Representative Lance and every cynical House Republican who signed the discharge petition – and then voted to kill that petition – as a fraud,” said DCCC Spokesman Evan Lukaske. “There is nothing moderate or centrist about lying to your constituents, selling out to DC party bosses, and turning your back on DREAMers.”
