Press Release: Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer and Mikie Sherrill to join New Jersey Students at the Morristown March for Our Lives

Fairfield, NJ—Democratic Candidate for New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District Mikie Sherrill announced Friday that Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer of Maryland will join her to attend the Morristown March for Our Lives this Saturday, March 24th.

“As a mother of four school-aged kids, I am deeply concerned about the epidemic of gun violence in our country,” said Sherrill. “We owe our children more than thoughts and prayers. I am proud to stand with Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer at the march in Morristown. Our goal is to demonstrate to the students of New Jersey that we are with them, we hear them, and we are committed to taking meaningful actions in Congress to address gun violence. Having Whip Hoyer in attendance at the Morristown March is a testament to the hard work and tenacity of our students, and I look forward to supporting them on Saturday.”

The Morristown March for Our Lives will begin at 11:00am on Saturday, March 24th outside City Hall. Sixteen students from 10 schools organized the Morristown March. According to march organizers, this will be the only student-led and organized march in the state.
