DiMaio blasts use of EDA Tax Credits

TRENTON, N.J. –  Assemblyman John DiMaio blasted tax credits doled out under the state Economic Development Authority, which have been under heavy scrutiny for corruption.

“Actually lowering taxes doesn’t end up with criminal investigations because the government is picking winners and losers with backroom deals,” said DiMaio (R-Warren). “The exploitation of tax credits is not surprising, and proves that lower taxes truly incentivize business growth. If lowering a tax bill weren’t an effective incentive then the Economic Opportunity Act wouldn’t have been conceived.”
