East Brunswick Republican Council Candidates call on Democratic Opposition to Ask Murphy, Legislative Dems to Avoid Government Shutdown to Save 4th of July Weekend.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

East Brunswick, NJ– East Brunswick Councilwoman Camille Clark, and Council candidates Curt Philipczak and Dhar Khona called on Mayor Cohen and their opponents for Council to stand up for the residents of East Brunswick and ask Governor Murphy and the legislative majorities to pass an affordable and common-sense budget and not put the 4th of July plans of East Brunswick residents in jeopardy.

Councilwoman Camille Clark stated:

“As Governor Murphy and the Trenton Democrats go full stock ahead toward shutting down the state government, and ruining the 4th of July plans of many East Brunswick residents, Mayor Cohen, and the Democratic slate for Council are doing nothing.  East Brunswick is fortunate to be just a short drive away from some of the best beaches in the county, and many of our residents are planning a trip to the shore this 4th of July weekend.  This uncertainty is putting these plans in peril and hurting our residents.”

Curt Philipczak stressed that if elected he would speak up for East Brunswick residents:

“One of the roles of serving on the Council is standing up for the residents of East Brunswick.  The Mayor and Jim Wendell have utterly failed with this responsibility.  I will always put the residents of East Brunswick first, and if elected won’t hesitate to stand up for them, even if it means going against my own party.”

Dhar Khona stated:

“The budget fiasco in Trenton, and the silence on this issue by Mayor Cohen and Jim Wendell impacts every single East Brunswick resident.  The Mayor continues to drop the ball when it comes to leadership, and East Brunswick residents continue to pay the price.”
