Elect Women NJ Opens 2026 Endorsement Application Process for Women Running Across New Jersey
Statewide organization continues to build a growing network of women leaders prepared to run, win, and lead.
MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Elect Women NJ is proud to announce that its 2026 endorsement application process officially opened today, May 27, continuing the organization’s mission to endorse and fund Democratic, pro-choice women running for local office across New Jersey.
Since its founding in 2020, Elect Women NJ has funded 214 women across all 21 counties, with 147 women elected to office and 24 now serving in leadership positions. By investing in women candidates early, the organization has built a growing statewide network of leaders who continue supporting one another long after Election Day.
Benefits of the endorsement include funding opportunities, candidate resources and access to Elect Women NJ’s expanding alumnae network of elected officials and former candidates serving throughout the state.
“Every year, we see more women across New Jersey stepping up to lead in their communities,” said Cara Parmigiani, Vice-Chairwoman of Elect Women NJ and lead of the organization’s endorsement process. “Our endorsement process is about more than selecting candidates. It is about building a statewide network of women who are ready to run, win, and lead. The momentum behind this work continues to grow because women are looking for real investment, real partnership, and a network that believes in them.”
Elect Women NJ leaders say the strength of its alumnae network has become one of the most impactful parts of the experience for candidates entering local politics for the first time.
“As an alumna of Elect Women NJ, I know firsthand how powerful it is to have women standing behind you when you run for office,” said Dania Martinez, Chair of the Elect Women NJ Alumnae Network and former Board of Education Commissioner. “That endorsement opened doors, built confidence, and connected me to a network that continues far beyond Election Day.
Now, as Chair of our Alumnae Network, I am proud to help build that same experience for the next generation of women leaders across New Jersey.”
Elect Women NJ will continue sharing stories from endorsed alumnae and elected leaders throughout the endorsement period as part of a statewide campaign highlighting the impact of investing in women candidates at the local level.
Applications for endorsement will be accepted through July 7. Elect Women NJ will offer optional application workshops designed to help candidates strengthen their applications, better understand the endorsement process, and put their best foot forward. Final endorsement announcements will be made by August 15, followed by an in-person cohort celebration and pinning ceremony on August 20.
