FDU ANNOUNCES PANELISTS FOR MAY 11 SUMMIT
National Experts to Speak on Smart Cities, 5G, Infrastructure
(MADISON, NJ) – Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Rothman Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship today announced their list of thought leaders participating in the May 11 Municipal Innovation Summit, including national subject matter experts.
The experts, who will each lead key breakout sessions, include James Murphy, partner, P3 Smart Cities, Mark Parr, CEO, Bandwidth Logic, and Michael Salvato, vice president, Mott McDonald. There will be five breakout sessions at the summit.
“Our breakout sessions not only feature engaging topics, they are being led by some of the very best and brightest thought leaders in the industry,” Dr. Dale Caldwell, executive director of the Rothman Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
“Information sharing and dialoguing with appointed and elected municipal officials is truly vital to what we do,” said James Murphy. “Our partners in government need to know the language, stakes, and benefits to leveraging innovation in their communities.”
“5G is going to have a massive impact on our economy, our communities, and our future,” said Mark Parr. “We need to start thinking about how we want to harness this technology to benefit the public sector.”
The five breakout sessions are:

- 5G Mobile Communication is Coming in Hot: What you need to know to leverage this network in your municipality
- Technology Apps in the Cloud: Increase security and service while controlling costs
- Five Keys to Goal Setting & Strategic Planning: Control the future of your community
- Constituent Communication Techniques: Are you sure your messaging is reaching your residents?
The program for the Municipal Innovation Summit on Saturday, May 11, is:
8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Networking breakfast
9:30 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. General assembly with speakers and award presentation
10:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon Break-out sessions
It will be held at the Rothman Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Florham Campus.
