“The longstanding problems at the former Dupont site in Pompton Lakes, NJ is extremely concerning. The six-month multi-series investigative report by the Bergen Record crystalized the level and depth of how bad the situation is and how the residents are living in a nightmare. Families are sick and the state has not cleaned up the site properly. The DEP failed to protect the community and the people who live near the contaminated site,” said Jeff Tittel, Director of the New Jersey Sierra Club. “Residents don’t feel safe in their homes until a full cleanup is done. We need the new Administration and the State Legislature to clean up the mess Christie and Bob Martin left. It’s time for Pompton Lake residents to be given the help they need.”
