Florida Democratic Party Announces Governor Phil Murphy Will Speak at Convention Saturday
Orlando, Fl. –– This weekend, from October 11 to 13, nearly 2,000 Democrats from across the Sunshine State will convene for the Florida Democratic Party’s Bi-Annual State Convention.
The Florida Democratic Party is pleased to announce that Governor Phil Murphy of New Jersey, incoming Chair of the Democratic Governors Association, will deliver the afternoon keynote kickoff at Saturday’s General Session. Governor Murphy will discuss his road map for Democratic victories up and down the ballot in 2020, as well as highlight the critical role of Florida Democrats in defeating President Trump.
“We are so excited to welcome Governor Murphy to Florida to help Democrats get energized and prepared for 2020,” said FDP Chair Terrie Rizzo. “This weekend is about building on the work Florida Democrats are doing in 2019, and setting up our eventual nominee for success – and Governor Murphy will be a key part of that.”
On Friday, FDP announced that Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried and Senator Chris Coons of Delaware will be speaking at the Fight for Florida Gala and Vice-Chair of the Democratic National Committee, New York Assemblyman Michael Blake, will speak at the Saturday morning General Session. Convention-goers will also hear from the Hon. Charlie Rodríguez, chair of the Democratic Party of Puerto Rico, members of Florida’s congressional delegation and gun safety activist Fred Guttenberg.
This year’s convention will be held at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, FL from Friday, October 11 to Sunday, October 13.
