Massive PSE&G Giveaway is a Disaster for New Jersey

The following statement was released by Lena Smith, Food & Water Watch Policy Advocate:

“A massively profitable corporation using the threat of job losses to get hundreds of millions of the people’s dollars is extortion, plain and simple.

“PSE&G conned Trenton lawmakers into granting them a massive giveaway in the name of saving jobs in New Jersey. Once this bill was passed, the company came clean, admitting that this dirty deal gives them money to spend wherever they see fit.

“Instead of squandering hundreds of millions of dollars on PSE&G, Governor Murphy should have simply said no, and told the legislature to come up with a bill designed for  a 21st century clean energy system, not a massive handout to a profitable corporation.”
