Gottheimer Assesses Damage And Storm Recovery Efforts In Sussex And Warren County, Demands Accountability

GREEN TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Today, Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) visited towns left without power following last week’s storms. Gottheimer met with first responders and public works crews, who have been hard at work clearing roadways and repairing power lines. Gottheimer made stops in the Townships of Green, Frelinghuysen, and Hardwick alongside Mayors Daniel Conkling, Frank Desiderio, and Kevin Duffy.

Congressman Gottheimer demanded accountability for utility company JCP&L’s emergency preparedness.

“It’s a massive failure that thousands of North Jersey residents have been without power for a week now. I’m deeply thankful to our first responders, crews, emergency management coordinators, and mayors, who have worked hard to turn the lights back on, but we’ve seen massive mis-management among our utility companies and we need to stay on them,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). 

“I appreciated Congressman Gottheimer coming out. He’s the only area politician who has contacted us, came out here and actually made a visit,” said Green Township Mayor Daniel Conkling.
