Gottheimer Statement on White House Meeting with President Biden

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) released the following statement:

“Today, I met with President Biden at the White House to discuss the importance of passing the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill this month, and continuing to work on a smartly-targeted, commonsense reconciliation package that’s good for New Jersey — and can get 51 votes in the Senate. It was a very productive session. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill is critical to building the Gateway Tunnel, fixing our crumbling roads and bridges, and investing in NJ Transit, broadband, clean water, and climate resiliency. It will help create two million labor jobs a year for the next decade. To support families in my District, I also reiterated the importance of restoring the State and Local Tax deduction, investing in child care, and including robust provisions to combat climate change, among other key priorities. I remain optimistic.”
