Gottheimer, Tully Campaign in Bergenfield for Amatorio
BERGENFIELD, NJ — Councilman Arvin Amatorio has been leading an energetic campaign for Mayor, knocking on dozens of residents’ doors every weekday to engage in conversations about Bergenfield’s future. He is working with running mates Ora Kornbluth and Buddy Deauna, and, last week, was joined in canvassing by Congressman Gottheimer and Assemblyman Christopher Tully. Tully served as a Bergenfield Councilman from 2009-2017, serving two terms as Council President.
“I am proud to support Arvin Amatorio for Mayor because he is committed to working collaboratively to improve services for all residents of Bergenfield. Residents know he is a leader of substance who collaborates to get things done,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer. “Between his leadership as Finance Committee Chairman, where he has delivered two consecutive budgets with zero percent municipal tax increases, to sponsoring the annual Bergenfield health fair, Arvin has shown he is the best man to lead Bergenfield forward.”
Since Borough Hall doesn’t hold an annual health fair where residents can receive free health examinations and learn what services are available to them, from the borough, county or state, Amatorio began hosting a health fair in 2016. His fourth annual health fair will take place October 20 from 8:00am-12:00pm at St. John’s Conolon Hall at 19 North William St., and will feature testing for blood pressure, cholesterol, eyes, teeth and much more.
“Having served on the Bergenfield Council with Arvin for over three years, I know that he is always looking for responsible ways to expand borough services while saving taxpayers money,” said State Assemblyman Christopher Tully. “Arvin has delivered fiscally responsible budgets that upgraded the borough’s credit rating with no tax increase on residents. He has led the way on crucial shared services agreements that are already saving taxpayer dollars here in Bergenfield, and nobody is more aggressive than Arvin at working with partners to identify avenues for state and federal grants. Arvin is an incredible leader with a true vision for the future of our community and there is no one more qualified to keep Bergenfield moving forward.”
“One of the main reasons I am running for Mayor is because the Borough of Bergenfield doesn’t currently apply for enough grant funding, or get involved with state and federal programs which can fund services from road paving to school and recreation space improvements. I know how to work with our state and federal representatives, Chris and Josh, to deliver better services to residents without raising taxes,” said Councilman Arvin Amatorio. “I appreciate the support of Josh and Chris, who share my passion for constituent service and finding ways to help taxpayers, and, if elected Mayor, I will rely on their partnership in important public projects.”
