GOUTAM JOIS AWARDED MOMS DEMAND ACTION ON GUN SENSE CANDIDATE DISTINCTION
SUMMIT, NJ – New Jersey Seventh Congressional District candidate Goutam Jois has been given the Moms Demand Action on Gun Sense Candidate Distinction for his efforts in standing up for gun violence prevention and recognizing gun safety.
“I’m honored to receive the Moms Demand Action candidate distinction,” said Goutam Jois. “Our campaign has been working with voters in the 7th District to amplify their call for gun violence prevention. I recently called out Representative Leonard Lance’s hypocrisy on gun violence, and after a week of public shaming, he belatedly co-sponsored the Gun Violence Research Acts that he had allowed to languish in his subcommittee. We helped high school students in their peaceful demonstration in support of the Parkland victims. I’ve been advocating on the issue of gun violence prevention for nearly 20 years, starting when I was the Youth Governor of New Jersey, and I will continue to do so in Congress.”
Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for new and stronger solutions to lax gun laws and loopholes. Since its inception after the tragedy at Sandy Hook School, Moms Demand Action has established a chapter in every state of the country and, along with Mayors Against Illegal Guns and the Everytown Survivor Network, is part of Everytown for Gun Safety, the largest gun violence prevention organization in the country with more than four million supporters.
