Gov. Jim Florio to Join Montclair State’s Brigid Harrison in Discussing Leadership Nov. 27
Former New Jersey Governor Jim Florio <https://www.floriolaw.com/attorney/james-j-florio/> will join Political Science and Law Professor Brigid Callahan Harrison in a conversation concerning his book, Standing on Principle: Lessons Learned in Public Life, which will be followed by a town hall style question and answer session with audience members. The event, which is open to the public, will be held Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 4 p.m. in Montclair State University’s Presentation Hall. Florio served as governor of New Jersey from 1990-1994. He entered public service in 1969 serving three terms in the New Jersey General Assembly, and in the United States House of Representatives from New Jersey’s 1st Congressional District from 1974–1990. He is widely recognized for legacy as having authored the Superfund Law, working for Open Space protections, and for signing the strongest gun control laws in the nation.
Brigid Callahan Harrison, Ph. D. is a resident of Longport, N.J. She is the author of five books on American politics, and is a frequent commentator on national and New Jersey politics.
