Governor Chris Christie Orders Flags Lowered To Half-Staff In Honor Of The Victims Tragically Killed In The New York City Terror Attack

Trenton, NJ – Governor Chris Christie on Friday signed the following Executive Order:

Executive Order No. 235 – Ordering all State buildings to fly flags at half-staff on Monday, November 6, 2017, in recognition and mourning of the victims of the horrific act of terrorism in New York City.

“The barbaric act of terrorism committed in Lower Manhattan took the lives of eight innocent people, including New Jersey resident, Darren Drake, and severely injured many others,” said Governor Christie. “While we mourn the victims of this despicable attack and pause to offer our deepest sympathies to their families, friends, and loved ones, we also want to express our gratitude to the members of our law enforcement agencies, particularly the New York City Police Department, whose heroic efforts helped to prevent further loss of life. Let it be known that, despite our mourning, that such attacks only affirm our commitment to live in a free and open society, and no act of terror will ever weaken that resolve.”
