Governor’s Intergovernmental Affairs Team Kicks Off New Legislative Season with New Leadership Team in Place Ready to Aid Local, County, & Federal Officials

 

(TRENTON) – The Governor’s Office of Intergovernmental Affairs is kicking off the new legislative session with several promotions and new hires who stand ready to assist federal, county and local elected officials across the State with a host of issues.

 

At the helm is Murphy Administration veteran Rob Field who was promoted to Director in 2022 to oversee outreach to elected officials across the state. He is joined by Brandon Parish, Raj Bath, and CeCe Doherty who were recently promoted to Senior Aides after serving on the team for numerous years, along with another Senior Aide, new hire Rebecca McNeil who previously worked for Congressman Malinowski, and Carolina Montes, who joins the team as an Aide after working for the U.S. Senate.

 

Field, who resides in Bridgewater, joined the Murphy Administration in January 2018, after serving as an Aide and Speechwriter for Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop. He is a veteran of numerous prominent campaigns, including Bonnie Watson Coleman for Congress, former South Bend Indiana Mayor and current U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, 16th Legislative District Democratic candidates, and Victory 2012. Field first got his start in New Jersey politics as an intern for the Somerset County Democrats and Chairwoman Peg Schaffer.

 

Brandon Parrish, a Newark native, currently serves as a Senior Aide to the Governor in Intergovernmental Affairs with a portfolio that includes outreach to local elected officials in Essex, Hudson and Union Counties. He joined the Governor’s Office in October of 2018 after working for the State Department of Community Affairs in Local Government Services. Prior to that he had worked on the Murphy for Governor campaign, and the Gubernatorial Transition Team. Parrish got his start in politics working as Deputy Finance Director for Kaplan for Congress on Long Island.

 

Raj Bath currently serves as a Senior Aide to the Governor in Intergovernmental Affairs with a portfolio that includes outreach to local elected officials in Bergen, Burlington, Middlesex and Passaic Counties.  A Maple Shade resident, Bath started in the Governor’s Office in September of 2019 in the Outreach Office where he worked with diverse constituencies and stakeholders around the State before transitioning to Intergovernmental Affairs in May of 2023. Prior to joining the Murphy Administration, he worked for New Jersey Citizen Action where he engaged elected officials at the local and state level, as well as in the private sector managing client and consumer relations for tech companies such as HP, Sony, and Google.

 

CeCe Doherty was recently promoted to Senior Aide to the Governor in Intergovernmental Affairs after joining the Governor’s Office in March of 2022. Raised in Egg Harbor Township, and currently residing in Sicklerville, her portfolio includes outreach to elected officials in and around her home base, including Atlantic, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem Counties. She previously worked for the U.S. House of Representatives and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and has held numerous campaign finance positions, and handled fundraising and event coordination for various nonprofits in the State.

  

Rebecca McNeil joined the team last month as a Senior Aide to the Governor in Intergovernmental Affairs with a portfolio that includes outreach to local elected officials in Hunterdon, Mercer, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Somerset, Sussex and Warren Counties. She began her career working for the House of Representatives in 2019 for Congressman Tom Malinowski in the 7th District of New Jersey. She then went on to work for the United States Senate doing Women’s Affairs and Healthcare Outreach. 

 

Carolina Montes joined the team last month as well as an Aide to the Governor in Intergovernmental Affairs and will be assisting Senior Aides with outreach to local elected officials in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, Morris, Passaic, Somerset and Union Counties. Prior to joining the Governor’s Office, Carolina’s career in government began in the Unites States Senate where she handled federal casework and Foreign Relations outreach. A Morris County native, she recently relocated to Weehawken and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree at the Rutgers School of Public Affairs and Administration.
