Hamilton’s Irish Flag Raising Ceremony

to be Held on March 5th

Hamilton Township will hold an Irish Flag Raising Ceremony on Monday, March 5, 2018, at the Hamilton Township Municipal Building (located at 2090 Greenwood Avenue) beginning at Noon.

The ceremony will include 2018 St. Patrick’s Day Parade Grand Marshal – Hamilton Mayor Kelly Yaede, St. Patrick’s Parade Committee Chair and Ancient Order of Hibernians, Msgr. Crean Division 1 President – Vincent McKelvey, along with other Hamilton Township officials and dignitaries.

Hamilton’s Irish Flag Raising Ceremony precedes the annual Hamilton Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, which will be held thisSaturday, March 10, 2018.  The parade’s opening ceremony begins at 12:30 PM at Nottingham Fire Company.  The parade begins at 1:00 PM and will travel down Mercer Street to Nottingham Way and towards Mercerville’s “Five Points” intersection, ending at Getz Avenue.

Throughout the year, the Township displays the flags of several nations at the request of local ethnic organizations to honor the many ethnic groups that make up Hamilton Township and have so greatly contributed to the community.  The Irish flag raising ceremony, at the request of the Hamilton St. Patrick’s Parade Committee, continues this longstanding tradition.

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will still be held inside the Hamilton Township Council Chambers, while the Irish Flag will subsequently be raised outside once the inclement weather subsides.
