Hands Across the Boards: A 5-Year Commemoration of Superstorm Sandy
2 pm Sunday, Oct. 29/Asbury Park boardwalk/rain or shine
ASBURY PARK, NJ – Five years after Superstorm Sandy battered our coast with such force it left parts of the Jersey Shore unrecognizable and caused disastrous flooding in North Jersey, the New Jersey League of Conservation Voters Education Fund is joining with more than adozen environmental partners to commemorate the lives and properties lost, and to demand immediate action on climate change.
Join us for a rally on the Asbury Park boardwalk as we share stories of heartbreak, recovery, and resilience, hear from local officials who were at Sandy Ground Zero, and lay out the steps needed to address climate change and save lives.
We will then link hands across the boardwalk, beginning at Convention Hall.
