HCDO CHAIR GUY CONGRATULATES HUDSON DEMOCRATIC UNITY TEAM ON ELECTION NIGHT WINS

HUDSON COUNTY- Hudson County Democratic Organization Chair Craig Guy released the following statement congratulating the Hudson County Unity Team’s resounding victories in Tuesday’s Democratic Primary.

The Hudson County Democratic Unity ticket consisted of Cory Booker for U.S. Senate; Rob Menendez, Nellie Pou and Lamonica McIver for U.S. Congress; Jeffrey Dublin for County Register; and Kenneth Kopacz, Bill O’Dea, Pam Johnson, Yraida Aponte-Lipski, Ron Bautista, Fanny Cedeno, Caridad Rodrigues, Robert Baselice and Alex Valdez for County Commissioner.

“We were proud to be among the first to support Governor Sherrill in her historic campaign for governor last November and tonight’s results are a critically important next step in our efforts to create a more inclusive and impactful Hudson County Democratic Organization.

We committed to doing the hard work required to make sure our organization best represents the ever-expanding voices and true conscience that represents ALL of our shared democratic values, and tonight is true validation of that commitment.

It is important to recognize that the only way through the turmoil, confusion and harmful policies being forced upon Hudson County families by MAGA Republicans in Washington is to recognize that the things we have in common far outweigh our differences and that we are truly stronger together.

Our Democratic Unity Team will focus on creating more affordable housing and keeping our streets and neighborhoods safe while also making sure we prioritize our children’s educations and protect every county family.

I also want to congratulate the Harrison Mayoral, council and committee candidates, as well as the East Newark Council and committee candidates on their victories. Congratulations to all those who ran for Kearny Council, especially to Candidates Zapata, Bonilla, Huancaya and Miranda.

Working together, Hudson County Democrats will continue to lead the way.”
