Alex Binder, Vice President of the Parker Advanced Care Institute and Home-Based Primary Care at Visiting Physician Services, has been named a 2026 NJBIZ Health Care Hero in the Health Care Professional category.

The NJBIZ Health Care Heroes Awards recognize individuals and organizations making a significant impact on healthcare across New Jersey through leadership, innovation, and service. Honorees were celebrated during an awards ceremony on June 23 at The Marigold in Somerset.

The Health Care Professional category honors individuals whose contributions to patient care and the healthcare industry have earned the respect of both patients and peers. Alex was recognized for expanding access to high-quality, home-based primary care for elderly and homebound patients across New Jersey.

Under his leadership, Visiting Physician Services has grown to serve 5,000 patients annually across eight counties, delivering comprehensive primary care directly in patients’ homes. Through this model, patients with complex medical needs receive ongoing care, chronic disease management, preventive services, medication oversight, and care coordination without leaving home.

Beyond his work at Visiting Physician Services, Alex is a national advocate for advancing home-based care. He serves on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Home Care Medicine and the New Jersey Healthcare Leaders Association, as well as the Board of Trustees of the Thomas Edison State University Foundation.

With more than 25 years of healthcare leadership experience, Alex continues to champion innovative care models that improve access, quality, and outcomes for medically complex patients throughout New Jersey.
