New Jersey High School Republicans Host Top State Republican Leaders at Kick-Off Event

BOUND BROOK, FEBRUARY 27 – High School Republicans and conservatives from across the state met at the Chimney Rock Inn on Sunday for a midterm kick-off event. The organization hosted many top New Jersey Republican leaders, of which were candidates for Congress in CD-7 and 12, and former gubernatorial, US Senate, and congressional candidates. The nearly 100 high schoolers and Republicans enjoyed pizza and appetizers while hearing from prominent state Republicans such as Bob Hugin, Jack Ciattarelli, Tom Kean, Darius Mayfield, Erik Peterson, John Isemann, and Rosemary Becchi.

The organization, along with Sunday’s speakers, are eagerly looking forward to a successful and monumental year for the Republican party on the local and state level. It is so incredibly important that the conservative youth be involved in politics, to better ensure a strong future for New Jersey and America. New Jersey High School Republicans is avidly looking to expand its presence in schools across the state. It also aims to afford students many internship and volunteer opportunities with campaigns and advocacy groups.

State Chairman William Atkins had the following to say on the future of the organization.

“In just the past year, our movement has really begun to flourish. In such a short time we have become one of the fastest growing High School Republican groups across the country, and it is because of what we are doing. We’ve helped young conservatives across the state to build communities of like-minded individuals while affording them the opportunities to hear from engaging and informed leaders. We plan to continue our efforts to reshape what it means to be a conservative. We will ensure the future of patriotism in the Garden State.”

New Jersey Republican Party Chairman Bob Hugin also spoke on the impact of High School Republicans.

“You all are the future of the Republican Party. We can’t win unless our message resonates with you. The policies that we embrace have to be the policies that you care about. You’re all of our future. Whether it’s political, cultural, social, or economic. The things that you care about, are the things that we have to care about too. It’s a new day in the Republican Party in New Jersey.”

New Jersey High School Republicans is an entirely youth-led political organization for conservative teenagers across the Garden State. It is the official high school auxiliary of the NJGOP. On the local level, High School Republicans work with allied organizations and local Republican campaigns to expand the conservative message in schools, push for conservative policies, advocate for the youth, and elect Republicans on all levels.
