Hoboken City Council Candidates Fallick, Brennan and Presinzano Release Statement in Aftermath of Ida
Hoboken, NJ: The tail end of what was Hurricane Ida ripped through the Northeast last night, creating devasting flash flood events across New Jersey and taking the lives of several people. Hoboken, which often sees flooding from rain events in lower-lying areas, felt the impact city wide due to record high rain levels and intensities. Cheryl Fallick, Sheila Brennan and Paul Presinzano, currently running for Council-At-Large as Independently Together, release the following statement in the aftermath of the storm:
“We are heartbroken to see the impact that storms like Ida have on our Hoboken neighbors and small businesses and thankful for the efforts of Hoboken’s emergency response teams who helped our community get through and recover from the effects of this destructive storm.” said the City Council candidates.
“One reason we are running to represent Hoboken on the City Council is to not only support the critical, system-wide, anti-flooding and resiliency efforts begun by Mayor Zimmer in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, but to also push the current administration and the North Hudson Sewerage Authority to better coordinate directly with all Hoboken property owners to both identify and resolve localized issues that may be contributing to the flooding and to help them mitigate and protect against the damage caused by future heavy rain events.”
