Hoboken Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher Endorses Russo for Mayor, Liz Urtecho Joins Team Russo as At-Large Council Candidate

Hoboken, NJ – NOVEMBER 11, 2025 – Today, Team Russo grew even larger. Tiffanie Fisher, Hoboken’s 2nd Ward Councilwoman, has proudly offered her endorsement of Dr. Michael Russo to be elected Hoboken’s next Mayor in the December 2 runoff election, and Liz Urtecho is excited to be joining Team Russo as a candidate for City Council At-Large.

“When I ran for Mayor, one of my promises was to bring my experience as a CFO to City Hall and help pull us away from a fiscal cliff that will skyrocket our taxes,” said Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher. “The only mayoral candidate in this runoff election who is even remotely focused on this is Mike Russo, and Mike, Liz and I fight for many of the same things. Having Mike in City Hall and Liz on the City Council will create a dynamic of independent voices, checks and balances, and fighting for what’s best for our city: safety, affordability, infrastructure, parking, taxes, and future growth. These are all areas where we have all been on the same side, and where Emily Jabbour has either diverged from our position or been largely silent. Mike Russo, Liz Urtecho and the rest of Team Russo represent a better way to run Hoboken—and I’m happy to support them as the best way forward.”

“I’m incredibly grateful to Councilwoman Fisher for her support in this critical election. For years, Tiffanie has been a warrior for common sense budgeting in this city, and we both believe that it’s time to unite around a positive, common agenda for Hoboken,” said Councilman Michael Russo. “Likewise, Liz Urtecho shares our views on most issues, has earned broad support in the general election for her positivity and commitment to our city, and will be tremendous as part of Team Russo. Whether it’s tackling Hoboken’s affordability crisis with new working-class housing supply, fostering an environment of safety and higher quality of life, or addressing our parking and traffic crisis, Hoboken needs bold leadership and real solutions. We all agree that our neighbors are begging for transparency, they are begging for responsiveness from our government, and they are begging for change. Hoboken residents deserve a positive vision which will refocus on our core competencies instead of thoughtlessly skyrocketing the cost of living. The time for change is now!”

“This election is about change and about addressing the quality-of-life issues that matter most to Hoboken residents — public safety, affordability, clean streets, and better infrastructure,” said Liz Urtecho. “I believe Mike Russo represents the best opportunity to make that change and to deliver results where residents feel them most. I’m looking forward to working with Mike, Tiffanie, Nicole, and Pete and the rest of the City Council to bring accountability, transparency, and a stronger, more responsive government to Hoboken.”

Dr. Michael Russo was born and raised in Hoboken and has been serving the 3rd Ward of Hoboken as a City Council member for over 20 years. A graduate of Hoboken High School, Michael went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree from Stockton University, Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Rutgers University (formerly UMDNJ), and Doctor of Physical Therapy from Utica College. Now, he’s running for Mayor in the December 2, 2025 Hoboken runoff election, with Liz Urtecho, Nicole Magaña, and Peter Keeling running alongside him for City Council At-Large.
