Hotel & Gaming Trades Council Backs Brendan Gill in NJ-11

Montclair, NJ - Brendan Gill’s bid for Congress continues to surge, with the Hotel & Gaming Trades Council (HTC) making a strong endorsement of his candidacy today.

HTC joins a growing list of elected officials and community leaders backing Gill in his campaign to be the next Congressman.

HTC President Rich Maroko said: “Throughout his time in public life, Brendan Gill has been a great friend to our members, and to working people in general. With Congresswoman Sherrill departing Congress for the Statehouse, we need to send another one of our champions down to DC. Brendan will be our voice and our defender in the House.”

Essex County Commissioner Brendan Gill said: “As the son of a union household that gave families like mine the opportunity to thrive, I am running for Congress to protect those values and ensure that those opportunities stay within reach for every family.

“As a community member, professional, and County Commissioner I’ve been a consistent advocate for higher wages, better benefits, and stronger workplace protections that corporations too often refuse to provide. I am honored to have worked side by side with the HTC to help them in protecting workers and their families.

“In Washington, I’ll continue this fight to stop corrupt MAGA Republicans from selling out the American worker to the highest corporate bidder. I’m honored to have the support of HTC and other organized labor groups who share my belief that unions are the backbone of our economy.

"Unions built the middle class, and the middle class built the greatest country in the world. I’m determined to keep it that way.”

HTC represents hotel, club, racetrack, and casino workers in a region which includes NYC, Northern New Jersey, and Upstate New York.
