Hundreds of NJ Realtors Team Up for Homeowners in Need

Trenton, N.J. (Sept. 27, 2018) – Yesterday, the New Jersey Realtors Housing Opportunity Foundation, in partnership with local Realtor associations, celebrated their annual Realtors Care Day, with volunteer work sites planned around the state.

Realtors Care Day is supported by the New Jersey Realtors Housing Opportunity Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization that exists to foster increasing opportunities in New Jersey for safe, affordable housing. Thirteen local boards of Realtors—Burlington Camden County Association of Realtors, Cape May County Association of Realtors, Cumberland County Board of Realtors, Eastern Bergen County Board of Realtors, Gloucester Salem Counties Board of Realtors, Hunterdon/Somerset Association of Realtors, Monmouth Ocean Regional Realtors, North Central Jersey Association of Realtors, Ocean County Board of Realtors, Passaic County Board of Realtors, Sussex County Association of Realtors, and Warren County Board of Realtors—held volunteer work days for more than 180 Realtor volunteers at a total of 15 sites in September.

Homes in need of exterior home repairs and adaptive and safety modifications for the elderly or disabled were chosen from a group of applicants. The repair work for most sites was completed yesterday, Sept. 26, with a few of the sites rescheduled due to rain.

“Last year, we had five boards participate in the statewide program,” said NJ Realtors Housing Opportunity Foundation President Christina Clemans. “To see the program expand to 13 boards with 15 sites is extremely encouraging. Realtors are a part of the communities they serve and by donating their time and effort to help a homeowner in need they are demonstrating that on a very personal level.”
