Roselle, NJ - Angela Calzone, President & CEO of Inroads to Opportunities, a Union County, NJ based non-profit human services agency that provides programs and services to individuals with disabilities, was recently honored as a 2026 NJBIZ Leading Women in Business.

The NJBIZ Leaders in Business Awards recognize the professionals who have made a significant impact on New Jersey's business community. Formerly known as the Best Fifty Women in Business Awards, the program was expanded in 2024 to honor an even broader group of the state's exceptional leaders. This year's class includes more than 60 honorees representing a wide range of industries, including finance, healthcare, law, technology, and more, along with three Rising Stars recognized for their outstanding leadership potential and promise to shape the future of business.

Angela Calzone, award-winning business and management strategist, is President & CEO of Inroads to Opportunities. Once appointed President, Angela re-designed the agency from a local hidden gem into a leading regional provider of programs and services for individuals with intellectual, developmental & mental health different abilities and their families.

With a career spanning over three-decades in the for-profit sector, Angela leverages her business acumen for advancing and sustaining vital services & supports, advocating for people with disabilities to ensure they are fully integrated into the community through employment, social engagement, and access.

She previously served as Inroads’ VP & COO. Prior, Calzone held senior leadership roles at top consulting and professional services firms across an array of Verticals.

Calzone received many state-wide awards in honor of exceptional leadership as a serial entrepreneur and business professional. In May 2026, Angela was named a Union County SHERO; previously she was finalist in NJ’s Leading Women Entrepreneurs & Business Owners by NJ Monthly, celebrated as a NJBIZ Best 50 Women in Business & nominated for Garden State Woman of the Year. Calzone holds a MA from Fairleigh Dickinson University & a BA from Upsala College.

Calzone holds a Master of Arts in corporate and organizational communications from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Bachelor of Arts in English and business administration from Upsala College.

ABOUT INROADS TO OPPORTUNITIES:

Since 1959, the Occupational Center of Union County, DBA Inroads to Opportunities, a 501 c3 non-profit, social services agency has been providing programs and services to over 400 individuals annually with various types of disabilities and ranging in age from 14 through retirement, many of whom are economically disadvantaged. Programs and services include transition from school to work, Pre-Employment Transition Services, Community Work Based Learning, Project SEARCH, vocational preparation, certificate training programs, job placement and coaching, day habilitation, benefits consulting, mental health services, and the Social Security Administration Ticket to Work program. Through its social enterprise, Opportunities Enterprises, Inroads also creates inclusive employment opportunities that support skill development, wage stability, and long-term career growth. Celebrating its 67th year, Inroads to Opportunities is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), an approved provider of the NJ Department of Labor, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services, and Commission of the Blind and Visually Impaired. Inroads is licensed by the State of New Jersey Department of Human Services, NJ Division of Mental Health, and Addiction Services to provide partial care and the Division of Developmental Disabilities to provide Day Habilitation, Pre-Vocational and Transportation Services. Inroads is an approved Medicaid provider and an approved Employment Network under the Ticket to Work Social Security initiative and an approved Benefits Planning and Counseling Service through the NJ Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services.
